We are a promotions company based in Croydon and put on and host a number of gigs in and around London and also much further a field.

We have hosted sold out events venues in London (Barfly, Waterats, Metro, The Fiddlers Elbow etc) and a string of all-age shows at Selsdon Community Hall. We have also held sold out events at the Newcastle Carling Academy, York University, Leeds University and Bournemouth University. This space is designed to keep everyone up to date with the events and gigs we are hosting.

A little bit of background

Rock Riot started as a means to put on gigs in Croydon for The Tunics, who are from Selsdon. Owing in no small part to Rock Riot, The Tunics are now signed to Manta Ray Music, have recently secured a publishing deal and their album was released during the summer of 2008.

While the company began with The Tunics as its focal band, we have been fully committed to finding bands which match and exceed our established bands. Thus, we reached a position extremely quickly where the night sold itself rather than needing to put several conflicting styles of music on, in order to guarantee attendances.

At the start of summer 2007 we started hosting gigs in Warlingham, both private and for charity, and these events were a huge success. We also put on shows at the Charles Cryer Theatre in Carshalton and the summer culminated with our all day, two stages, and 18 band festivals in Warlingham, which got a several page write-up in Wired magazine. We also began to manage a few of the bands we put on at these shows, and there became a flurry of new bands forming and playing for Rock Riot.

We now have acoustic and electric residencies at The Edge Bar and Bodega in South Croydon, which are very popular. Over the past year we have contracted both The Littl'ans (Whose Single ‘Their Way’ Featured Pete Doherty) and Yeti (featuring John Hassel of The Libertines) to play at our nights (bands who are both very well known in the indie music world), as well as The Bad Robots and Revenue (who both featured on T4's unsigned competition). By having local Croydon bands support them we hope to gain national press coverage for our local scene.
