"KHAZINHO" by Robert Kyle and Stephan Oberhoff - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 14, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
This Chorinho-esqe melody almost comes across like an old movie in black and
white, with rainy narrow winding streets, maybe Cuba, and evoking bittersweet as well as joyous emotions.
The name "Khazinho" stems from the people whom Robert and I owe that we are partners in
this soulful duo, Nancy and Tony Khazen.
They are the owners of our favorite Pasadena Sandwich Shop "The Coffee Barrel."
Tony was the one who always insisted that Robert and I should meet, and Nancy consistently "kills us" with her amazing food.
We first met there after months of prodding from
both of them, and thus we dedicated this song to them in gratitude.

Pronounced with a "Ha" (deep in the throat) like in Arabic or Yiddish, the
title is a mixture of our friend's family name KHAZen, and the stylistic
influence: chorINHO music.

Chorinho is actually a derivative of Tango, believe it or not, hence it's
danceable, in this case, melancholic rhythm.
