DESCRIPTION:
Herb Alpert's version of the song Angelito, which was a hit in 1964 for the Latin-styled pop duo Rene y Rene. Alpert had yet to form a touring line-up of The Tijuana Brass, and so recorded his earlier albums with the help of The Wrecking Crew, the top group of LA studio musicians during the 1960s and 70s. The vibraphone solo is by a member of The Wrecking Crew, Julius Wechter, who played vibes and marimba on all of Alpert's 1960s recordings, and was also the leader of The Baja Marimba Band.
