Basant Panchami presents the glory and splendour of Spring. It is a Hindu festival, celebrated especially in the Northern parts of India, announcing the arrival of Spring.
A festival attributed to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge.
Vasant Panchami is celebrated on the 5th day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Magh, according to the Hindu calander. The term 'Vasant' would mean 'Spring' and 'Panchami' would mean, 'Fifth day'.
