TULIPA045 / Casseopaya - Valparaiso / Lima
The duo Casseopaya have dared to explore a continent that is not their own. In another plane of the human consciousness, they detach from their earthly bodies and float across the warm waters of the mid-Atlantic. Settling on the western coast of South America, they begin their journey through the streets of cultures entirely new to them. A story is arising from their surroundings, and the Casseopayans have decided to tell the tales. The resulting entity is titled Valparaiso / Lima, a nod to the two great cities that have inspired their hearts to explore beautiful electronic music.

Valparaiso begins the exoticism like a alluring lover in the night. The song fires up a sultry groove suited for even the most immobile of dancers. The master Sven Tasnadi remixes Valparaiso into a powerfully warm storm destined to rain upon the seaboard. Sven creates a hypnotically groundbreaking synth line that ignites the interior fuse of Valparaiso. An explosion of unstoppable brilliance results. Casseopaya's second original, Lima, strikes an airborne array of solar powered chords fit for the colorful jungles of the Amazon. Incorporating plentiful amounts of percussion and melody, Casseopaya demonstrate their passion and respect for indiginous musical traditions. Richard Seeley harvests the elements of Lima into his own freeform quest through equatorial splendor. He adds a rocky depth that shears off the melodies of the original and delivers a pounding, organic nosedive into techno. QuiQui bravely steps forth and ejects his triumphant mix as a satisfying conclusion. His version is house-induced and emphasizes low end groove and pulsating idiosyncrasies.

Casseopaya are about to return to a physical state and leave behind their lucid manifestations across the ocean. None of the experiences will be forgotten and many exciting expeditions are yet to come. Valparaiso / Lima is a gorgeous tribute to two of the places that have resonated within their cores. The duo has expanded their reach to include Tulipa Recordings as a home and this fantastic release glows with ferocity within our gardens.
