Tripoli's Hip Hop revolution is a project that builds on the success of Cross Arts Association over the past five years of perseverance, commitment, and deep faith in their cause. It takes the form of a conscious awakening that shares the aspirations of a large group of youth who today revolt against the bitter reality of their country Lebanon in general and their beloved city Tripoli in particular. These artists rebel through expressive rhymed words and rap songs that raise questions about accountability and the rising injustice and marginalization, along with beats meant to bring peace to the city by spreading positive lively vibes. Break dancers join the rappers to reject the proliferation of arms in the city and the irrational recurrent conflicts, which are also highlighted through the work of graffiti artists in public murals that tell the story of the marginalized city of Tripoli.
