Heartography - Ukulele Original - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 11, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
For GCT's Bring the Song Challenge #6? Maybe? I've lost track.
Cartography is the creation of maps so Heartography would involve mapping the heart. It's punny but, that's me.
F Gm7
My body is a map, of the places I have been
F Gm7
It rises in relief as your fingers touch my skin
F Gm7
You can trace the elevations, depressions and the scale
G7 Gm7 F
And the veins that flow like rivers, through a gradient of pale

The silver flashes, that mark me like a knife
And even though I hate them, they're badges of my life
All my little wrinkles, you can read like braille
I've got 14 tiny freckles, like scattered breadcrumbs on a trail
G Gm7 F Gm7
But oh, oh the heart, is so much harder to chart
G Gm7 F Gm7
Oh, oh the heart, so much harder to chart

The vertebrae meridian, that makes up my spine
Bends and sways in rhythm and echoes serpentine
You can navigate the landscape, discover every nook
I've got natural formations that deserve a scenic outlook (yeah right)

But oh, oh the heart, is so much harder to chart
Oh, oh the heart, so much harder to chart

The heart is tricky, there are roads that never end
Paths in all directions that swoop and dive and bend
Pitfalls and pratfalls and reckless mistakes
There's a monument erected, every time it breaks

My body is a map, of the places I have been
It rises in relief as your fingers touch my skin
You can know my physical geography
But you'll need an advanced degree for heartography
