The band Red Wine has been performing out of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1982. In addition, has performed throughout New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and Texas. Red Wine has been fortunate enough to be invited to perform with legends such as The Turtles, The Diamonds, Chubby Checker, Little Joe y La Familia, Ruben Ramos, Sunny Osuna, Malo, Cornelio Reyna, and the late Selena. And most recently Paul Revere and the Raiders with Herman’s Hermits at the new Isleta Casino Resort New Years Eve 2001. We play all types of music spanish, r & b, country, oldschool, reggaeton.
On January 31, 2000, Red Wine released their first compilation CD
entitled Vintage, which contains music from their first and second LP cassettes, Copa de Vino and Sabor de Albuquerque This CD features two of Red Wine’s most requested hits Frijolitos Pintos and Un Puno De Tierra. Red Wine participated in the City of Albuquerque Arts in the Parks program featuring 50’s nostalgic act so they created a review call The Hubcaps. The group is theatrically inclined and presents itself in full-dress, high energy, blast into the past featuring music from the fifties and sixties. The newest show of Red Wine created in July of 2001 is the Platforms all 70s & 80s music with Afros, bellbottoms, polyester silk shirts and of-course 5” platforms. The Hubcaps & Platforms are truly shows suitable for all ages.
