Judas Priest, 40 years strong into their career (their debut album, Rocka Rolla was released in 1974) return with REDEEMER OF SOULS. Unlike its predecessor NOSTRADAMUS, RoS takes a more conventional idea toward a Priest album, blending sounds from Priest's first three decades with a modern feel. The album's overly-bombastic production scheme can at times feel a little jilty and imbalanced, and some of the writing here will drive long-time Hellions crazy, but overall, the feel of this record and its overall value feels solid and steady. After all, its just good to have a new Priest album in the catalogue.
