Reddy Teddy 'Ooh Wow' 3 3 07 - Video

DESCRIPTION:
OK, People; here is another song performed by the renowned Boston, MA Band, Reddy Teddy. This was recorded at the same show they played at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, MA on March 3rd of '07. John Morse, Lead Vocalist for the band (since it's inception back in the '70's when the April '77 issue of Playboy, in their Music Poll under 'Best Local Bands', called them 'the BEST New American Band, period!) singing 'Ooh-Wow'. John Ranks amongst the Top Rock Vocalists, BOTH in VOCAL TALENT and STAGE PRESENCE!.....Check them out @ www.reddyteddy.com (Again, Simply GREAT PURE UNADULTERATED ROCK!) This song, 'Ooh-Wow' was written by the late GREAT, (and VERY much missed) Matthew Mackenzie, the original Guitarist in the Band, and as well back then could be heard not JUST harmonizing with John Morse and FORMIDABLE Bass Player, Scott Baerenwald, but trading vocals back and forth with John. (Matthew wrote the majority of the songs, music and lyrics as well in those days.) This does not diminish in the least other tunes penned by the other band members such as Scott Baerenwald's 'Sook Sookie', which can be heard on the Bands new/latest, CD, 'Loud and Clear' (and was played regularly during their sets back then), a GREAT ROCKIN TUNE! Matthew's other compositions can be heard on the previous 2 CD package entitled 'Teddy Boy' put out a couple of years ago ( and produced by Vocalist John Morse and original Bass Player/ now one of the 2 Guitarists in the Band, Ted von Rosenvinge, also one of the songwriters on the 'Loud and Clear CD'), as a Tribute to Matthew. Amongst the tracks that can be heard here are songs from their never before released (unluckily for Music Fans) Mercury Records album, which was due to contractural disputes.( Mercury maintained they owned the rights to the Master Tapes, but the Band's Dynamic Drummer, in the spirit of Keith Moon, Joe Marino Jr.'s Dad, a Prominent Attorney, took on Mercury and won the Master Tapes back for the Band, thus now allowing everyone to share in the Tremendous Hard-Rocking Music played by Reddy Teddy 'back in the day'. As I mentioned above, Matthew's equisite voice can be heard harmonizing with John and Scott as well as trading Vocals back and forth with John. Also on the compilation are Matthew's various 'side projects'. 'Girl Watchin' is one of those and is sung on the 'Teddy Boy' CD by Matthew. It was recorded along with other songs on the CD at Todd Rundgrend's Bearsville Studios. There are other songs on the set from Reddy Teddy's Indie Label 'Spoonfed Records', out of Maynard, MA, album which was originally released back in '76. Actual Production of the album was handled by Willie Alexander, (of 'Boom Boom Band' fame, STILL Playing Today!), Playboy called Willie 'the Patron Saint of the Boston Music Scene' in that same issue of Playboy where Reddy Teddy is talked about that I mentioned above. Also Producing the album, along with Willie was Maxanne Sartori, A Disc Jockey, who hosted a VERY POPULAR program in the afternoon hours on Boston's Premier Radio Station, WBCN. (She actually managed the Band for awhile and gave the song 'Novelty Shoes' major airplay on the station.) These songs from that album can be heard, as I said, on this 2 CD Set as well! AWESOME MUSIC all in one place!!! TO purchase either of the CD's, put out since the Band's reunion, simply visit their My Space page @ www.myspace.com/reddyteddyboston. And AGAIN, be sure to check their sites for upcoming gigs in the Boston area as they are actively 'out and about' playing again. Last but certainly NOT least, I have to mention that with their reunion an OUTSTANDING Guitarist from another popular Boston Band of the same era, 'the Atlantics', Jeff Lock joined the Band and contributed SIGNIFICANTLY to song writing on 'Loud and Clear'. Amongst the songs are 'Is She the One' and 'Pity Me', which are two of MY favorites. So Watch and LISTEN, People, but more importantly, ENJOY Reddy Teddy......
