DESCRIPTION:
Cathy Richardson singing the classic Joe Hill song "Rebel Girl" written by Hill for Elizabeth Gurley Flynn prior to his execution in Salt Lake City in 1915. The recording appears on Bucky Halker's 2015 CD "Anywhere But Utah: Songs of Joe Hill," a tribute to Wobbly songwriter Joe Hill 2015.

Bucky Halker did the bluesy arrangement and also performs on guitar and ukulele, while Steve Yates add Hammond organ and John Abbey lays down the bass. The track was recorded at Steve Yates Recording Studio in Morton Grove, IL in December 2014.

The CD project was supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency, the Swedish Council of America, the Department of Cultural Affairs-Chicago, and the Illinois Labor History Society.
