DESCRIPTION:
Here's a really cool player I've just put together. This features a custom oak & walnut wood case, hammertone green RP-190 RCA changer, brass turntable insert, clear red spindle cap and a gussied up EY-2 amplifier to produce high fidelity! The amp features a 12AX7 preamp stage & a pair of 50C5's in push-pull configuration, selenium rectifier...all feeding a 4" x 6" speaker & 2" round speaker with a crossover network. Sound is phenomenal....especially considering the size of the speakers!
The custom wood case was bought from a woodworker for a very reasonable price & was put together much like I would have. I have the tools, the wood, & the talent to put one together but I just don't have the biggest ingredient....TIME!! In a few years I'll be retiring & HOPEFULLY will be able to find the time to do the little things in life that make me happiest (record players are really a small part of my life....believe it or not!).
I've always had in my mind to make a custom player. Now that I've completed one, I can see me doing a couple more in the future. I have a couple of nifty changers & amplifiers that would make prime candidates!
I hope you've enjoyed watching this video. Stay tuned as I'll have more coming in the near future!
