Saxophone Lesson - Soloing on Tunes: Broadway - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 08, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
This jazz saxophone lesson in improvisation from https://www.beginningsax.com is the first in the Soloing on Tunes series by Randy Hunter. The chord changes from the standard, Broadway, are used as a basis for developing melodic and blues based solo phrases. The lesson includes a play-along track by some of Atlanta's top jazz rhythm section players. Transpositions of all exercises and examples are included for tenor sax, alto sax, and concert pitch instruments. Blues scales, arpeggios, and pentatonic scales are all used in this step-by-step approach to creating a melodic improvised solo.
