DESCRIPTION:
Anokha was the playground of Eastern break beat culture, a Temple of Sound which merged Indian soundscapes with electronic beats. The energy was carefully curated by Talvin Singh, playing sonic soundscapes and creating a mash up of ambient house and cutting Indian alaaps from Indian classical recordings on vinyl. The Anokha Collective and groundbreaking record-sounds of the Asian underground was the inspiration to producers and clubs worldwide like: Dhaamaal (San Francisco), Swaaraj, (London), The Midival Pundits and Karsh Kale and a whole new generation of electro-acoustic producers .
