When It Rains It Pours In The Beginning, There Was Rain. Born under the sign of Sagittarius, the magnetic Rain comes to us from all different directions. Hailing from Fayetteville North Carolina, he knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue music. Growing up, listening to legendary artist such as Kool G Rap and Rakim. At the tender age of 13, Rain started to put his views and ideas to paper. The Artist… Determined to be a significant person for the youth in this present time, Rain possess a mature ability to relate to the obstacles and struggles that they faces. Socially conscious, and politically aware, His music touches on all different social issues yet includes the club banging hits that the Hip-Hop industry yearns for today. Unique in his approach to writing and delivering his artistry, Rain is a perfectionist in his role as an artist and hopes to share his talent not only in the Hip-Hop community but to main stream America and eventually the world. Not a fly by night rapper, but a consistent artist who continues to grow with the Industry and special enough to stand out. With a persona that’s charming and magnetic, intelligent and alluring far beyond his years, Rain is the poster child for a legend in the making. Rain Makes His Splash… In early 2006, he released his first major mixtape “Only in America”. The tape created a huge buzz in the Carolinas and made its way up the East Coast. Instantly, Rain became the talk of the industry and the streets to be the next unsigned artist to make an impact in the music world. While the mixtape was heating up the streets, Rain continued to keep his name buzzing by releasing over one hundred freestyles and songs that were featured on national mixtapes. Fall 2006, he teamed up with heavy weight Hip-Hop website Hip-HopGame.com. He released yet another mixtape “Another Day another Dollar”. By the end of 2006, every major, independent record company made offers to add him to their roster. While pursuing a record deal, Rain took notice of the climate in the industry and found that he needed to start his own company. Thus, First In Flight Entertainment was born. Representing his home state of NC, he continued to build his buzz with his consistent grind for making music. This landed him a feature on the first street DVD in the country, Smack DVD (Vol. 13). In February 2008, he received an honorable feature in Source Magazine’s Unsigned Hype. Which lead to other appearances in major magazines such as XXL and Ozone. With his energized performance on MTV’s TRL, appearances on BET, Thsis50.com, Green Lantern Show, and the list goes on. Rain is one of the only unsigned artist that has had this much major media coverage. Chosen out of hundreds as a finalist for BMI’s 2009 Unsigned Artist Showcase, Rain performed his certified hit single Nuvo & Ciroc off his highly anticipated EP “The Fly Gangsta”, which is due to be released early summer 2009. Not to be outdone, Rain continues to be a force to be reckoned with.
