Puwing
“The splinter in your eyes is the best magnifying glass”. This is from Theodor W. Adorno’s Minima Moralia and we read upon it while searching about Puwing - a Tagalog word that translates to splinter or mote. Our song revolves around this statement - it’s a visual metaphor. The splinter symbolises the pain that we go through, but it magnifies a special form of knowledge - suffering. In our opinion, we learn more from painful experiences. It leads us to be wiser - no matter what it is. As a result from our learning, we avoid doing the same mistakes and become better people. Once we’ve magnified our errors, we shake the shards off similar to the motion that you do when you’re trying to remove dust (Puwing) from your eyes.

Quip - Tagalog Rap Duo
Quip is a Filipino Tagalog/OPM Rap duo composed of Augustine Rib and Ignatius Black. Originally from Manila, Philippines both Augustine Rib and Ignatius Black moved to New Zealand in the early 2000s. Quip are big fans of FlipTop Rap Battle League and the FlipTop crew Uprising which houses the bigger OPM rapper names in the industry. They're also big fans of of Anygma - FlipTop emcee and host, BLKD, Zaito and KJah. They hope to get into the FlipTop community someday, and push Filipino Tagalog / OPM Rap back into radio.

The duo are currently working on an untitled Tagalog / OPM Rap album, partly releasing tracks through their SoundCloud page. They take much inspiration from daily living, poverty and social issues in the Philippines.
