A word from Quantic on the origins of the video and the track itself:
The rhythm used in 'La Plata' is loosely based on one of the musical genres of Choco, which is called 'Chirimía'. Choco is a Colombian state located in the north west with a Pacific coastline and a rich musical heritage. Chirimía has many styles but its foundation is the marching band style snare and cymbal and duelling clarinets. Nidia and I had gotten more into this sound after visiting Nuqui, Choco and hearing the local youth brass band play till the early morning. The following year we returned to Nuqui with Film Maker B+ to shoot the video to La Plata which features scenes from the nearby coastal region of Guachalito as well as footage from Quantic & Nidia Gongora's performance upon Nuqui's sports field during 'Nuqui Festival'.
