From folk music to jazz, from traditionalism to musical freethinking: Wolfgang Puschnig is one who has returned from faraway musical realms. Bernarda Fink, the celebrated Argentine mezzo-soprano with Slovenian roots, sings transregional folk songs, partly in Slovenian, partly in German: it might be the soundtrack to movie scenes set in a big city, or to images of rich green pastures from a rural romance. Only music can do this.
