You Me at Six are a five-piece rock band from the UK who are coming on with as much conviction as a patented Aaron Paul "bitch." Unlike the Lambada, which had a lot of buzz a few decades back (but went from the "forbidden dance" to the "who cares dance" within a flash), there is no denying these Brits are about to catch on with the mainstream. Their new album - Cavalier Youth - hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart a few weeks back, and in their homeland, it's a smash. And, it's not just hype. Josh Franceschi, Max Helyer, Chris Miller, Dan Flint, and Matt Barnes are starting to stick out big time - breaking away from rock act clones and wanna-bes. Take, for example, their substantive single "Room to Breathe," which is in the top 10 on rock radio, and the mere fact they sold out Wembley Arena right out of the gate. I mean, seriously, who does that? Few. Anyway, the band is currently on tour, killed it at BBC Radio 1's "Big Weekend" fest a few weeks back, in which they shared a bill with everyone from Coldplay to Lorde, and have over 20 million more YouTube/Vevo views than I could ever dream of. Last month, the gang performed exclusively for A-Sides, and knocked it out of the proverbial park. Watch that, and the interview I did with these gents below. See first hand that modern rock isn't dead - thank goodness for that. (Videos filmed by shootmepeter.com)
