The "Working Man" album is available now at Strange Famous Records: http://tinyurl.com/WorkingManLP
For Prolyphic (Providence, RI) and Buddy Peace (London, UK), the Atlantic Ocean wasn't even a speed bump on the road to crafting their "Working Man" album. Separated by the sea and working on two continents, the pair assembled the record with little thought to the distance between them.
Shooting music videos as a duo, however, has proven a different challenge.
For the first 2 clips, Pro made "Drug Dealer" without Buddy, and Buddy starred in "Go Green" with Lil Pro 5000, his emcee partner's puppet alter ego. For their third visual endeavor, they refused to let physical limitations stand in their way.
"Creative Differences" doesn't appear on "Working Man", but captures both the feel of the album and the effortless bond between this unlikely pair of hip hop afficionados. It is a brand new, rough, raw verse delivered in one take by Prolyphic (in Providence) over live MPC-drumming from Buddy Peace (in London), joined together by the apex of 1970s film technology: the split screen.
If you haven't copped "Working Man" yet, check the inimitable chemistry and show of skill on display here, and then, as Prolyphic gently encourages within, "just go buy the fucking album!"
