The industries newest addition to the hip-hop game is taking the industry by storm; One, “Street-Heat-Banger” at a time. This 23 year old call himself DJ Solo! When asked where he got his name he always says that he adopted the name because back in the day he always rolled solo, in other words "alone". He always did his own thing and this trend continues this very day. Not only is Solo one of the Midwest premier juke DJ’s, he is also an "A" class producer and now artist.



Solo was born on September 11, 1986 and raised in Chicago Heights. He attended Bloom and Crete Monee high school. DJ Solo became interested in music when he was in 3rd grade. This is when he got his first take in the limelight during a talent show. Solo, fell in love with the reaction from the crowd. After this experience, he was hooked. "DJ Solo the Juke Artist," was born. He initially gravitated towards DJ’ing, which is his 1st love as a way to express his new found obsession. The DJ’ing led to producing and the natural progression was to become an artist himself. For Solo DJ’ing will always be the basis for his creativity. It serves as the foundation for his creative flair. Per Solo, "with DJ'ing "I can always keep my ear to the street." The streets have a pulse and that pulse is turned into music". Solo began playing some of his early production at local events in which the crowd’s reaction directed him towards perfection. If he played one of his songs and they did not respond he went back into the lab. Through several attempts he finally perfected his craft. It was not about being heard by the right person. The first person to take to Solo’s craft was Michael Moore aka "Tight Mike". Tight Mike gave Solo a huge amount of insight about production and the business. Tight Mike was very credible because he is chicago's own Twista’s DJ / Producer. With Tight Mike's tutelage Solo was able take his passion to the next level. He began working with some of Chicago's hottest talent and soon was signed to Connected Records one of Chicago hottest independent lables. Solo has been managed by Blunt Expressions Ent. for the last two years. B.E. and Solo have had a very successful union. They have changed the landscape of Chicago for ever although the best is yet to come.
