Jarrell Ewing and Justin Ewing of the Gemini Twinz, have unleashed a strong yet versatile style to the rap game. Brothers Jarrell Ewing and Justin Ewing are identical twins in real life. However, each has unique and distinctive abilities that together as “The Gemini Twinz” create a fresh pulsating musical flow. Jarrell and Justin began their careers at the age of 12 as they grew up in a south suburb of Chicago.Jarrell rapped beside his brother and allowed Justin to take the spotlight on most of the songs. Jarrell continued to sharpen his talent and began receiving recognition by performing at school functions. Jarrell is outgoing and a leader offstage. He continues to network throughout the rap community for future projects. Jarrell also pursues interests such as dancing (Foot-Working) and basketball.
Justin is known for his versatility and original swagger. He has a creative flair for living and was determined to find a creative release. Justin began watching TV shows such as 106 & Park, TRL, VH1, and MTV. I-Brow says, "These shows where my inspiration to become a part of the hip hop movement". He continued to pursue his dream of becoming a rap artist by freestyling excessively and trying new styles. By the the age of 13, crowds would gather and listen as his talent emerged. Justin also sharpens his chops by battling any emcee in a challenge! Justin states, “I love battling because that’s my time to be the comedian and make people laugh. It also keeps my skills sharp". ”.Both of the brothers received individual notoriety and recognition. However, when they performed in a talent show for the first time at Washington Junior High School together the two were dynamic. It was the most memorable performance of their career because they began to live their dream. Jarrell said, “It was a perfect first performance and we mastered something we worked so hard for.”
It was that day their mother gave them the name “Gemini Twinz.” The group continued to pursue their career but was unsatisfied with just local notoriety. Shortly after, a gentleman named Pierce Henry was introduced to the Gemini Twinz by his son Imari. He heard their unique blend of rap and was amazed by their precision, lyrical abilities, and their power. Pierce, CEO of Blunt Expressions, offered to manage the group with complete financial support. The group accepted and Pierce Henry has taken their success to another level.
With the help of Pierce and his partner, David DeLacy, they are preparing to press forward into greatness. Through the years, they have performed at venues like the Merriville Center, Rich South, Rich City Skating Rink, Racine Circle, LF St. Louis Showcase, BOLD FEST-07, Bold Fest 08, Car and Bike Show 09, The Portage Theatre, Dunbar, Beidler Elementary, The Phoenix Fest, The Matteson Festival, Showtime at the Apollo, DEF JAM Review and many, many more venues within the U.S. and Canada.
