DESCRIPTION:
Sam performs two solos in this video -- one on the xylophone and one on the timpani. This xylophone solo is "Ragtime Robin" by George Hamilton Green and was filmed in Dec. 2012. The timpani solo is "Tribal Serenade" by Mitchell Peters and was filmed May 2012 (starts at 2:54 in this video).

Sam has participated in music in some form or fashion since he was a wee toddler, participating in school music classes and he hopes to continue his music training and performance through high school and college and well into adulthood.

It wasn't until he began participating in piano and ORFF ensembles in elementary school that he became hooked on music. He tested the orchestral waters playing the upright bass in his school and local youth orchestras. And when he entered middle school, he found his niche as a concert percussionist with a penchant for mallets and timpani. While he continues playing piano and plucking around on his bass occasionally, he has expanded his musical skills to music composition.
