A devout "born again" Christian, Prafit Josiah lives life according to what he believes is God’s plan. Patience, experience and life have carved this man into one of the many hardworking musicians developing intense and imaginative music. His musical roots began with Hip-hop, some of his favorite artists were/are A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Big Daddy Kane, Jeru the Damaja and many others. Josiah’s love of music didn’t stop at Hip-Hop though; he was an avid listener of Reggae, Jazz and Gospel.
If you ask Josiah, he’ll describe his music as Gospel & Hip-Hop. He’ll tell you that he doesn’t really fit into one genre; he’s somewhere in-between. Prafit Josiah is a perfect fusion of Hip-Hop and Gospel at its finest. He possesses all the components of a great emcee while still managing to share his faith in a non-elementary way. Witty lyrics, diverse delivery, style and incredibly unique music barely scratch the surface of Prafit Josiah. Once below the surface you’ll see that his rhymes are poetic, deep and different, in an industry where everybody is the same.

He rhymes like a blend of so many artists that it’s hard to compare him to others. You can tell he comes from a time when lyrics actually meant something and words were important, his lines are irregular, unpredictable and well thought out.
Starting his music career in the summer of 93', as a member of the group Phat Skillz, which was later named Prafitz; Josiah has come a long way. Taking one day at a time and one song at time, Josiah plans to spread his music world-wide through massive grass roots effort.
Armed with the knowledge of the music industry, copyright law, music production, songwriting, audio engineering, and basic business practices, Josiah has been quietly building an impressive collection of material.
No matter how you put it Prafit Josiah is an artist like no other. Some say his music is Hip-Hop in its truest form, while others just simply call it incredible; but no matter what you call it or how you label it, after hearing the music of Prafit Josiah you will definitely be hungry and thirsting for more.
