Solar Pocket Sized Radio Shack Calculator - 1972 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jan 20, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
In 1972 I bought this wallet sized solar powered Radio Shack calculator for $4.95. After the last four years in a dark drawer, as the video shows, the instrument still works perfectly! Radio Shack I hear is about to go out of business, because it forgot in between 1972, and now, that the photovoltaic module had been invented by Bell Telephone Company in 1952. OOps! Instead of remaining an electronics store, they decided to place their lot behind big oil: big supporters of Reagan and his anti-solar policies in the 1980s. Ignorant and stupid until the dirt is tossed upon their caskets, at their personhood's lowering into the grave, they'll be scarcely missed. It'd be different if they sold high quality solar modules to the public, as a consumer appliance. Shame on me for suggesting it!
