Climb aboard the rock'n'roll battlebus for a psychedelic glam punk trip hoppin' blues landscape of chaos and floaty melty things, from all extremities and dexterities. So please invite yourself into my humble kitchen for some uncool skanking in yer pointy platform doc. marten flip flops. Bring your own bits of mind machinery and sci-fi no-fi to the judgement juggernaut of then, now and quite possibly tommorow. All this and more is beaming down to you from the STY in the bizzare city of Glasgow in the jaggy land of Scotland in the disunited kingdoms of Grande Brittania in the beautiful olde worlde of Europa on the amazing spinning blue globe in the infinite vastness of the cosmos. Dream on dreamers, scheme on schemers. All hail to the undergrowth, nurture it, never let it die and let it increase into forever. Anarchy, peace, freedom and love.
Traffic Cone records presents FU January with Colour Cells, PHLOX, Sleepy Eyes Nelson and Homesick Aldo at Pivo Pivo on Sat 8th Jan.
Expect a large slice of easy listening psycadelia from PHLOX. I first came across Willie Copelands other project Alien Pig years ago. True Glasgow legends of the underground of the last decade (s) . and the PHLOX incarnation blew me away with Alison joining in on vocals. She sounds brilliant and you can tell they have fun when they strut their stuff live.

Maydaze with "Haight Ashbury", "SparraHawk", "Fin-Ray", "Alienpig". With DJ Jason(pussypower) Soundhaus, Glasgow. 1st May 2008
The second of a series of kaleidoscopic, psychedelic happenings, Maydaze is a shiny beacon of day-glo amid the Soundhaus darkness.

For final glorious, lawless number Fin-Ray are joined on stage by Willy the Alien Pig and Froddo - to play as that legendary 90's underground posse "Spamborskee". They rattle through a wigged-out, helter-skelter version of 'Hot Head', as easily as riding a bike - an Albert Hoffman style bike ride. MC Malkie boy joins for the far-out, shambling aural assault that rekindles the hearts of their flaky fans. Close your eyes and it could be 1989 again.
"Alienpig" and MC Malkie boy stay onstage to play the set of the night. Defiling the audience's inner organs with a blistering "1956", they begin their journey of delight and kaleidoscopic haze. Looking like a tattooed explosion in a retro thrift shop, MC Malkie boy keeps the pace with balmy chants and cosmic wigouts. Alienpig's boxful of chemical, electronic tricks sounds like a full-on orchestra of aural turmoil. A wayward daze of far-out melodies, with that rocking, non-conformist slice of skanked-up psychedelia, their 40 minute set inspires some groovy dancing, and goes too quickly. Stand out tracks include the magnificent submarine pop of "Insect Manifestation" and the belting grooves of "No ID". A truly cosmic jumble of aural joy - beam me up Alienpig! A name to search out on future the gig circuit.
The Soundhaus has a bit of a reputation for gloom, and these chaotic, blissful nights of psychedelia are the very dab to enhance their reputation. More of the same please!!
