Modern Jazz Lesson: Creating tension and release by pairing tonic triad with a triad a tritone away. - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 15, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
In this video, I talk about superimposing a major triad a tritone above an A7 chord. In this example, I'm pairing the tonic triad (Amaj) with the b5 triad (Ebmaj) and alternating through each inversion to control tension and release.
The Eb triad over the A7 gives the b5,b9, and the b7. Please subscribe to my you tube channel for more lesson and performance videos. If you find it helpful please share and spread the word:).
