In this tutorial we talk about how to make the drake-style effect - that filtered, underwater effect that is so synonymous of Drake's productions.

In order for this effect to be more authentic and effective, filtering frequencies alone is not enough.

The combination of frequency-dependant distortion, pitching and some EQ can really give a more distinctive and creative sound.

The chain that we discuss in this video should serve as a starting point - you should always try to find your own way of doing things.

Don't worry if you don't have all the plugins shown in the tutorial. You can use the stock plugins that came with your DAW to recreate the drake-style effect.
