Pete Turland Band- Cruisin' - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 27, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Pete Turland moved to Canada from Northampton, England, in 1989 at the request of Roy Williams (Nervous Records) to record with the Canadian rockabilly band the Nervous Fellas. Since then, Pete has established himself as one of the top bass players in Canada, having been named the Best Bass player 4 times by Real Blues Magazine. He's been the founding member of some of Canada's more recognized blues bands: The Twisters, Harp Dog Brown & the Bloodhounds and also toured around the world as a member of Ray Condo & the Ricochets, until Ray's untimely death in May of 2004. Pete is currently an active member of Cousin Harley - one of Canada's premier rockabilly/ western swing bands as well as his own The Pete Turland Band. Pete has performed at pretty much every major Folk and Blues festival in Canada as well as the Hemsby Rock & Roll Weekender (England), Viva Las Vegas (USA), Calella (Spain), Mirande (France), the Lincoln Center (New York), the Hollywood Palladium, and on the CBS Good Morning show.

When Pete plays the bass, the audience pays attention! His unique style is often copied by up and coming bass players who revere his talent. His animated playing and interaction with the other musicians makes him a much sought after player. He is an accomplished front man and band leader who is highly respected by his peers.

On Cruisin' he plays fantastic guitar licks that'll move the hair on your neck. Joining him on this album is Chris Brzezicki on stand Up Bass and Glenn Hallam on drums. The album was recorded in 2011 at Owen Sound Studio in Edmonton.
