FROGASSA - Frogxploitation ("Fretta & Furia" by Pedale Baroque, 2014) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 03, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
The 2nd single taken from the new compilation album by Pedale Baroque, "FRETTA & FURIA" (2014)
Frogassa are one of the historical Pedale Baroque bands which made its debut in the eighties with many obscure and controversial tracks such as "I married a frog", "To frog or not to frog", etc.
Their peculiarity is the bizarre use of the metaphors of "frogs", which makes their lyrics quite obscure to many, but clearly understood by others who know the secret codes...
As what we know (and we hope to be right, since it was never confirmed) the word "frog" is used to define the white people. The white power that still oppress the black people in many places and occasions. Yes, FROGASSA are a political band, even when you don't realize it. Even this track, with whom they're back in action ("FROGXPLOITATION"), is hiding a message. But this time more explicit than before. It's message of revolt, to claim once again all the human rights that black people still lack sometimes. The title is inspired by the worldwide famous phenomenon of "Blaxploitation", which was an exciting subcultural movement across the sixties and seventies in the United States, in which everything was filtered through the black culture, relegating the white people and their culture, to secondary roles, often mean ones.
Another peculiarity of the band is that, thru the years, it was spreaded the rumour that they were cannibals. They never denied this and instead they were happy to play this gimmick even further. That's why you always see cannibal scenes here and there in their videos... ;-)
Black power is back, hope you'll enjoy the show.
