Paypah Boi aka Byrd, Born Anthony Byrd Jr. 1985 San Pablo California, raised in Oakland California, Paypah Boi started rapping at age 9, but never took his music serious until he reached age 16. Paypah Boi joined a group in Fairfield California In 1999 called Crooked Army, but it didn't go to far so he cut loose from the group and began working solo. Paypah Boi moved back to Oakland In The Year 2000 and let rap go because it wasn't doing him any good, so he continued living the street life. Paypah Boi graduated from Brenkwitz High School in 2003 as the star point guard on the basketball team. In 2004 Byrd's family moved out of Oakland, CA and moved to Las Vegas, NV, but he stayed behind and started rapping again with an old high school friend that taught him how to engineer and record himself. They began calling themselves SFOAK, San Francisco and Oakland’s airport code put together. The other half of SFOAK, Monsteez then got incarcerated so Paypah Boi continued recording alone and came across a chance to score big in Las Vegas. Paypah Boi competed in a Rap Competition in Las Vegas, NV at The Beach Club for New Years of 2005, to try and win a record deal with Interscope Records. Come to find out, the show wasn't for a record deal with Interscope, they jus helped promote the showcase. Paypah Boi nailed the show and they took him out of the competition telling him that he was riding with them regardless, and leave the competition to the others. Paypah Boi then hired the host of the show as his manager and ran with his label, Skyysent Records. Paypah Boi’s manager took him and label mates to Santa Monica California to Interscope Records to discuss distribution with Kevin Black, but Kevin Black shot them to the left. Paypah Boi then started doing promotional shows in states such as Arizona, Nevada and his home State, California to get his music out in the streets more. Paypah Boi stayed with Skyysent until he left his manager and label in early 2006. Now Paypah Boi resides in Atlanta Georgia, recording tracks and looking for a new home in the music business.
