About Paul Weston
Paul signed to Olav Wyper publishing in 1985.
Olav was the man who discovered and launched the careers of artists such as David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Eurythmics, Monsarrett Cabelle amongst many others.
"Feel so good" was first single released in 1985 on Cottage Industry records.
This single was produced by PVC (Mike Price, Nigel Voyle and Danny Chang);
Mike and Danny had previously written and produced a song for the soundtrack for the Eddie Murphy film "The Golden Child".
Olav introduced Paul to another of his publishing artist Nigel Jenkins. Nigel had worked with Gerry Rafferty on his album "City to City" and played electric guitar on the famous song "Baker Street". Paul and Nigel worked together on a three song project.
In 2001 Paul wrote both songs for the Music Wales single release "We Are The Future", working with Al Steele and Louise Ryan (vocal coach and arranger for Charlotte Church). The songs from this CD were performed on BBC, HTV, S4C, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 7. Performances followed at St David's Hall, Cardiff, Swansea Grand Theatre and Porthcawl Theatre. "We Are The Future" has been recorded in five different languages and is included on a African compilation album in the kiSwahili language.
In 2002 Paul's song "I Look Through The Sky To Heaven" was recorded by USA recording artist Kelly-Lynn and received a national USA network release reaching number 14 on Indie Chart. In 2004 "I Look Through The Sky To Heaven" was featured on the USA complition album "Somebody Brave" which also featured two songs from one of Paul's favourite artists Alex Acuna. In 2005 Paul's song "Shine" was performed by award winning Welsh sporano Holly Holyoake at the World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood,
USA.
Holly won a gold medal and two bonze awards for her performances.
In 2006 Holly performed Paul's song "Shine" on the Aled Jones UK Concert tour.
Highlights of 2007 include Paul working with one of his favourate artists, David Habbin (singer with "Amici Forever", the award winning Popera band with over two million album sales world wide) and recording a new "We are the future" song with Swedish family group BBx8.Paul linked up with Nick Jarl ( accomplished writer and producer for Westlife) who produced the WATF Sweden song.
Paul is also working with Jeniffer Young (One Beautiful Dream World /OBL) and BBx8 on the production of a new WATF International song which will recieve its debut at the Children's Palace Theatre in Shanghai China on November 3rd.
I am delighted to be working with the brilliant song writer Arthur Primac and the special talents of Olia Tira on an entry for the Russian Eurovision Song Contest due to be held in Belgrade in May 2008.The song is entitled "Ljubov Kotoroj bols" ("My Desire") and special thanks to Louise Ryan for writing an amazing vocal arrangement.The song is due to be recorded later in January but see Arthur and Olia's details on my top friends.Olia has also performed "My Desire" at the Golden Stag Festival in Romania which is the second biggest song competition in Europe to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Future plans include Paul's most ambitious music project to date, a 15 minute music piece entitled "My Desire".
There will be several "special guest" musicians contributing to this project and there will be more news soon.
Paul continues to work with his long time friends Al Steele and Nigel Jenkins on new global song writing projects.
