DARREN J SHEPPARD

My music started in back in 1976 after hearing two instrumental tracks on BBC Radio 1. The first was 'Wonderful Land' by The Shadows and the other was 'Peter Gunn' by Duane Eddy.
Soon after came influences from the Beach Boys and The Searchers.
With such a broad base on musical influences, ranging from John Barry Orchestra to Pink Floyd and Billy Idol, it was easy to pick the elements to create songs.
The first song was written in 1977 and was absolutely awful.lol! .
I have been a major part of the Midland music scene over the past 30 years, performing with many bands, which included: The Stingrays, Night Shift, Blue Movers, Southern Comfort, Carillon, Catch 22, The Spudz, One World.
Currently working with 'Come Together Band' & 'Fall Out'.
Over the past nine years most of my work has been sessions at FFG studios, working on albums and performing with local bands.
One of the sessions was for Brian Poole and Dave Berry for a cover version of - 'To Love Somebody', which was subsequently released in Holland and Belgium in 2005.
In 2005 the first album 'Black Day' was released on Hangman records. This project was with Pete Jarvis ( of Peach Rhino) and Rob Mason. It received good reviews from various critics, including Toxic Pete, who personally loved the album.
'Not That Kind' the first track on the album was the first to be signed with NCompass for publishing deal.
The long awaited new album 'SUNDAZE' is due to be released hopefully by Spring 2011 and has already had some good responses. The publishing contract is in discussion now.
Sorry to all the folks who have been waiting for the album and big apology that it's taken so long.
A special thanks should go to Dave Draper for all his tireless work in the studio, my wife Jo, my son Sam & my daughter Sophie for their help and to all the friends on Myspace who have been so loyal and supportive with the music.
