DESCRIPTION:
The tracks on this album each represent instruments I met while working in the violin business from 1997 to 2001. Instruments with stories to tell and individual personalities that haunt me to this day, whispering voices I tried diligently to capture with bow and microphone. Listen closely and you can hear Abigail (Abigail Remembers, Passages), Henryetta (Trains, Storm, Green Sparrow), Daphne (Music Box, Passages), Mr. John Freeman (Ghosts) and two others who never told me their names (a 1685 violin by Andreas Guarneri - the "Ex Dancia" on "Under the Direction of St Theresa" and a 1732 viola d'amore - converted to a viola by a later luthier - by Giovanni Fiorillo on the track "Frost") telling their own tales, singly and in concert, in their own voices.
