American Idol hopefuls were more nervous than ever at last night's elimination show, and we have your ClevverMusic recap. Hey internet, welcome back. Im Erin White in for Misty.

These eliminations are not going to get easier, as America knocked the top 10 contestant line-up down to 9. But to break the ice and kick off the show on a positive note, Ryan presented contestant Paul Jolley with a really cool gift. Paul was presented with a Proclamation from the Mayor of his hometown, declaring March 16th as Paul Jolley Day, but unfortunately that excitement was short lived because moments later Ryan also informed him that he was in the bottom three. Also joining him there was Devin Valez, which was his second week in the bottom three, followed by Amber Holcomb rounding out the trio.

But before we found out who got the ax, we were totally loving some of the performances from former Idol Contestants. Season 10's Casey Abrams continued the Beetles theme from the night before, and sang an amazing acoustic bluesy type cover of I Saw Her Standing There, followed by a stellar performance from last season's runner-up Jessica Sanchez. Jessica debuted her single, Tonight featuring Neo, which is the first song off of her yet to be released album Me You & The Music. And her performance with Neo was amazing, and we even saw her dance a little too. Check it out

So, you know what's after the performances, right? Yeah, elimination time. And the person to go home was Paul Jolley. He of course had an opportunity to sing for his life to try to win that judges one save. And here he is singing Alone, by Hart, check it out!
Unfortunately, his performance didn't impress the judges enough to use their save, so Paul went home... But, hey...he got his own day and he will totally be on tour this summer, so it's not a complete loss, right?
