DESCRIPTION:
PAUL GILBODY has been prominent in the Scottish music scene since moving to Edinburgh from his hometown of Belfast in the 90′s. Quickly making musical contacts as vocalist of grunge outfit Big Sur, he conceived and founded seminal 12-piece funk outfit The Ugly Groove Movement where as vocalist and bassist he honed his writing and arrangement skills on two albums of original material. Taking up double bass in 2000, he formed groove trio Gecko 3 with singer/guitarist Marty Philip and drummer Hugh Martin. The band have since toured in Europe and the USA, and performed at Ronnie Scott's in London and at various UK and European festivals and released 3 EPs.
