In a studio that sits in the heart of Atlanta, Maurice "Parlae"
Gleaton is prepared and ready to work. Dressed in red Converse,
dark denim jeans, and a red Phillies cap, and his signature white
tee, he seems in thought as the 808 drops and loops back for a forth
time. With no paper in site and having only heard the beat four or
five times all the way through, he is ready for the booth. Just like
the many times before he does it with no hesitation and straight
confidence.
“I’ve really been working on my image as an artist, my craft, and
my business skills as far as running a successful label,” starts
Parlae. “I have also been putting out music as a solo artist,
shooting videos, and working on relationships with other artist and
producers, working hard to bring everything together.”
As talented as he is confident and focused more so now than ever,
Parlae is a southern rapper with a southern swag but northern lyric
punch lines that makes him a threat to any beat he hears. With 4
coveted ASCAP writer awards under his belt over 1 million albums
sold and over 5 million in ring tones, Parlae is an artist who knows
how to write a record, arrange it, and make it a hit. Motivated to
create through his belief that he has more to offer than just the
songs we’ve heard from mixtapes and his work with Dem
Franchize Boyz, Parlae is an open book for those who choose to
consume him.
“I’m going more into life experiences and focus this time around,”
starts Parlae. “Meaning my struggle and what I have been through
as an artist. I’m also coming with more of a street edge because of
my life experiences but am also
still open to doing crossover
music, as you done heard from
Dem Franchize Boyz”
Now filling the shoes of a rapper
as well as a CEO of two new
companies, White Tee Cartel Inc.
and Ko-op Musik Group, Parlae
is finding his lane and making his
own way. While White Tee
Cartel Inc., houses two groups:
Bang Bang Gang & (10) Ten,
KO-OP Muzik Group has a
growing roster (Jon Geezy,
Parlae, Phsyc Mike, Jr Ar, and
Young Tay) that is steadily
showing the best of the best that
Atlanta has to offer. With a main
focus to make his companies as
well as his name as a household
name and to be an all around
better rapper and entertainer,
Parlae is definitely taking the
steps necessary to make it to the
next level. Currently pushing
multiple mixtape projects, writing
short films/movies, taking acting
classes as well as working on the
next Dem Franchize Boyz album,
he’s working harder than your
favorite artist.
“This time around I’m really
looking to accomplish what Dem
Franchize Boys did and much
more,” claims Parlae. “ Now I
feel like I have better control and
direction in my career and I know
a lot more about the business then
I did before.”
With the right team behind him, a
name for himself, as well as
continued good music, it
shouldn’t be long before the rest
of the world starts to pay more
attention. As for the south they
already know what "PARLAE"
