DESCRIPTION:
July 19, 2014. Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace. It was billed as X's first ever acoustic show. That didn't feel entirely true. The members of X have played together many times and recorded two albums as The Knitters, which is an all-acoustic enterprise. Plus, the show at Pappy's wasn't even that acoustic; it might have been more accurately billed as a "hollow body" show. There were plenty of pickups, cables, and amps--they were plugged, and plugged good--but the sound was definitely a bit softer than classic X. But lest I get all caught up in the technicalities: it was an incredible show under the open desert skies, and it was first rate X.

These were the first two songs of the show: "The Hungry Wolf" and "Beyond & Back."
