Andrea Di Paolo: "Arcaica" (2012/2013) for four percussionists. Winner of the International Composition Competition for Percussion Ensemble Vp 13 (cycle 3: Prix du Jury) in Marmande / Bordeaux (France).

"The work ARCAICA is a call to the sounds of the earth, on the border between western music and ethnic music. Divided into four movements, each has its own life, but in the total trace a path of memories and landscapes expected and unexpected. The music comes from the silence of a resonance, as if to remind Tibetan prayers and dies in the wake of the last movement sounds, a tribute to the music of Morton Feldman; in the middle two movements rough, rugged, two sides of the same existential journey that each of us every day knows and recognizes."
