Project One

Project One is more than a crew, a band or a group. Some how those phrases do not accurately represent a cohesive collective of individuals whose ties are not limited to a love of music. Shared blood and lifelong friendships are the foundations of a unit who have emerged from the underbelly of London to undertake the role of social commentators for their peers.



What is the Project? The project is a musical work in progress that is built around core values such as integrity, respect and quality. Integrity, as you would imagine, alludes to musical content. Project One believe honesty and powerful music are linked, therefore each member of the ‘One’ remains true with their lyrics. Respect is simply treating everybody as they would like to be treated. Quality is of course the product, the music; fans can be assured that every artistic offering will be of a high standard.



What is the One? The One not only defines the strength of the unity between Typah, Detox, Junior Mozart, Nervz, K-jaro, Ziggyman and Slim Esquire. It is the embodiment of the core values we have just spoken of in conjunction with the ambition which needless to say, is to be number one. However, being number one does not necessarily mean being top of the charts, being number one means being the best you can be while still maintaining your sense of self, being as good as possible without compromising your character.



Where do they stand? Many questions have been asked about Project One. They are not gun toting maniacs but neither are they peace and love artists with their heads forever in the clouds. Life will never be a bed of roses, but neither will it ever be a bed of thorns regardless of any adversity faced. Project One reflect this concept as they are not gangsters nor are they an overtly positive group. They are ‘realistic’. Any violent or anti-social behaviour in society is not glorified by Project One, it will however feature in relevant topical discussion in a contextual way as hiding the reality we face will not make negative circumstances better.
