Oya had her first instrumental experiences with her keyboard and "saz", one of the Turkish traditional instruments, at the age of 12. She moved to Istanbul in 1991, to attend the Bosphorus University. In 1995, she began to play bass guitar. In 1998, she played with the "Kirik Kalpler" band at the Asian Live Music Exchance in Shirataka, Japan. After that, she went to London for further studies in music. In 1999, after graduating from London Music School as the Bassist Of The Year, Oya came back to Turkey in order to be a member of the rock band "Bulutsuzluk Ozlemi". Meanwhile, Oya played in the album of a Turkish guitarist-singer Yavuz Çetin. In addition, she performed one song for a tribute album of Turkish singer-songwriter Bülent Ortacgil. In 2003, she began to play with the band Babazula. After releasing Babazula's new album named "Psychebelly Dance Music" on May 2003, they had their first concert in Printemps de Bourge Festival, in France. After a while, Oya began to play with a singer-songwriter Feridun Düzagaç. She, as a proffesional bass player, performed in numerous concerts all around the Turkey with different pop-rock singers. Nowadays, Oya takes part in local scenes as a session musician. Besides that, she also makes an effort on education by sharing her playing skill and experiences with her students in her own studio "Studio Drum&Bass".
