The footage is archival from Oregon State U's in house studio KBVR and their show "Locals Live" (from Feb. 2013 - http://youtu.be/cidljSQ9l6Y ) and public domain footage from www.archive.org for the background and foreground layers. I did the editing freelance, fan-art style (they didn't ask me or pay me to do it) because I really appreciate AYIG's pro-open source, pro-creative commons, pro-remix and sampling ideals. And they're from Oregon. And we used a different song of theirs in our show "Pancho Villa" ( https://www.youtube.com/panchovillaindie ) and they're cool dudes and I enjoy collaborating with chill, Oregon artists. I had a blast tricking out the footage whilst playing with basic design elements like positive/negative space, repetition, unity, variety, rhythm, color and other video elements like keying, layering, pacing, opacity and transition effects. My thematic idea was to make the video seem like it's coming from somewhere very far away, from some sort of party-studio spaceship broadcast, and the transmission is being received really funked-up.
