Was born in Aydın, in Turkey.After primary school he lived in Izmir and after been accepted in Yildiz University Architecture faculty, he moved to Istanbul for good.He released his first album 'Floating Mine' in 1994.The album immediately had a great success especially because of the hit single 'I Can't Love Anyone'.In 1995 the second album 'I Couldn't Hold On' was released including his first film music project single from1993, 'Night Angel and Our Chaps'.He started his study in 9 Eylul University, Fine Arts Faculty of Musicology in 1997 and in the same year he established his own label and music company Loopus.His 1997 release 'Trip' was accepted as the first electronic & triphop album for Turkish music.He won İzmir '9 Eylul University Department of Art-Musicology' in 1995.He established his first music company 'Loopus' in 1997.First electronic music album of Turkiye, 'Trip' was released by Loopus Entertainment.As a Millennium gift, OQ prepared a new work 'Ethnotronix' album.It was presented in 14 different countries in 2000.He composed the soundtrack of the movie 'Crude' which was awarded in different festivals.And moreover it has The Best Film Award in Los Angeles IFB Film Festival'.In 2004, he brought together all the music from the movie in an album called 'Pleasure' and it was released in Greece, Poland and Lebanon.The song 'Pleasure' from the album was also released in a compilation all around the world by EMI.He had an agreement for a new 'Library' with English Warner Chappel Music Company in 2004.This library work named 'From Istanbul' came on the market in Hollywood and the film companies in the world.The album called 'Don't Strike Over Me' which includes the soundtrack of 'Foreign Groom'TV Series was released on June 2nd, 2005.This album was distributed in some European countries especially in Turkiye, Greece, Malta and Cyprus.He had a success and fame with his soundtracks of 'The Valley Of The Wolves' 'Foreign Groom' & 'A June Night' in many Arabic Countries broadcasted by MBC & Abu Dabi TV Channels.He became an important & distinguished participant of 'Self-Project' Exhibition with his masterpiece 'Tuur Project'organized in Luxembourg with lots of other participants and works in 2004.The same project came on the market named 'Tuur Rain Prayer' as MC-CD album on July 18 th,2005 both in Turkiye and in Luxemburg .'Tuur Project' is considered as the very first fascinating mixture masterpiece of Asian Turkish instruments whose background go back to 10000 years ago with the harmony of electronic music.'The Valley Of The Wolves-Iraq' with its soundtracks composed by GOKHAN KIRDAR was shown in Turkiye, Europe, Middle East, America, Latin America and Russia in 2006.GOKHAN KIRDAR had a success with his excellent sountracks in the documentary of 'Not Your Average Travel Guide' prepared by Shane Reynolds, a famous American film director for 'Discovery Travel Channel America' in 2007.GOKHAN KIRDAR composed the soundtracks of ' Gladio ' film shown both in Turkey and abroad.All soundtracks of the film are praised by music critics and all moviegoers.German artist Dieter Mammel had a corporation with an Italian film producer and director Claudio Malasomma and Turkish composer GOKHAN KIRDAR for the soundtracks of ' Under Deep Water' documentary film in 2010 .The film was taken part in many festivals not only in German and Turkey, but also in all over the world .
