A rarity -- Jessica Lea Mayfield performing her hit, For Today, with her family's band, One Way Rider. Onstage with her are her brother, David Mayfield, mother, Valerie Mayfield, and father, David Lee Mayfield. As children, Jessica and David had toured the United States with their parents in a bus formerly owned by the father of bluegrass, Bill Monroe, before they set out on their own careers in adulthood. This concert at the Kent Stage Sept. 8, 2011, in Kent Ohio, was the first time in years that One Way Rider was able to reunite onstage. Needless to say, it was an excellent show. Enjoy!
Her brother, formerly of Cadillac Sky, is currently touring the US in his band, the David Mayfield Parade, while promoting his newest CD of the same name. Get it, it's great; David's a wizard on anything with strings, and he's quite the showman. Jessica's band is continuously on the road also; her latest release, Tell Me, produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys, is equally outstanding, a must-have, and was rated #17 on the list of the top 50 albums of 2011 by American Songwriter Magazine.
