Elton John, Gröna Lund, Stockholm, Sweden,1971 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 14, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Now this is really a true gem for any Elton fan!

A 34 minute swedish documentary from 1971 about Elton John and his band (Nigel Olsson and Dee Murray) when the band was in Stockholm to perform at the Gröna Lund amusement park.

The documentary features interviews with the young, up and coming star Elton John and his band members as well as excerpts from the concert. Elton mentions having only one hit single (Your song) and being immune to press conferences as he's already attended seventy of them! This is early Elton stuff at its very best!

Concert excerpts:

Sound check/rehearsals (05:09)
Can I put you on (06:51)
Friends (10:55)
Your song (15:05)
Burn the down the mission (20:05)
My baby left me (24:24)
Whole lotta shakin' goin' on (29:30)

Both audio and visuals are great so enjoy this amazing Elton John documentary.

edit: Between 00:23-01.36 there is a scene with Elton on an airplane (on his way to Stockholm?) where the makers of the documentary used the track "Sixty years on" as soundtrack.

Youtube recognized this as copyrighted material so I had to remove it to make the video playable on all devices. This music was taken from the album "Elton John" and is not recorded during the making of the documentary. I thought removing it was the right thing to do to be able to let everyone watch this documentary without restrictions.

Nothing else has been edited in the video. Enjoy!
