Born in Saint John aka Port City, New Brunswick, Canada on Oct 24, 1985, Jared Burt became the younger of two boys. At a very early age it was told to him by his parents that he could do anything he set his mind to. When he was twelve he developed a love for skateboarding and all things that were somewhat extreme. His love for skateboarding eventually led to bagging his parents to help him by a video camera so that he could begin filming his friends jump down stairs and rails. By the age of sixteen, Jared and his friends had a well-established reputation for being the best in the city and the DVDs that they made were more then easy to sell in the streets. Do to the fact that music and skateboarding go hand in hand, Hip Hop became just as much as a lifestyle as skating. At the age of nineteen, Jared began free styling with his friends just for fun. Realizing that he had a talent, Jared began writing down his rhymes to popular instrumentals and making mix tapes. Now under the stage name Jay Be… (Which is not only his initials but also a play on words allowing the listener to fill in the sentence with how they view him) he began to gain the respect of all local artists and Hip Hop heads. As he got older he began to see the different paths his friends were beginning to go down. Having some of his child hood friends go to face jail and even death was enough to make him believe that there were better things in life for him. Believing that knowledge is power, he enrolled in Film school were he could sharpen his skills with a camera and eventually one day own his own production company.With Jared B. And I AM GOOD AT THIS.” With the resent release of his self produced first album, titled, Return To Good Music, Jay Be… has shocked fans and hatters with the amount of skill he possess. “Im not afraid to be me. This is who God made me and he knew exactly what he was doing.” On his wall in big letters reads: Inspired by the best, Motivated by Money, Destin to be Great. No other slogan could capture the determination in his eyes. “I keep God first and everything else falls into place.” Having opened for such hip hop moguls as Lil Kim, Joe Budden, Pharoahe Monch, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 59, Choclair, Classified, Maestro Fresh Wes, and others, the future looks better and brighter then ever!
