Expedyte

It was at the age of 19 that Expedyte left his hometown of Saint John, New Brunswick, to pursue both a music career and post secondary education. While taking on the challenge of obtaining a degree in the Sciences, Expedyte began creating his first solo full length LP titled “LIFE”, teaming up with good friend and producer Metropolis Votary (Toronto, Ont). Not long after recording the first few tracks of the album in Halifax and placing them on Myspace, Expedyte caught the attention of Man Bites Dog Records (an independent label based in Virginia &Washington, D.C.) and was offered a record deal. While recording the album in Washington, Expedyte managed to obtain guest features from underground hip hop icons Killah Preist (Wu-Tang), Copywrite, Louis Logic (Demigods), Vast Aire, C-Rayz Walz and 2mex. He was also featured on a compilation entitled “The Swashbuckler” with legends RA the Rugged Man and Sonny Seeza from ONYX. In February of 2007, Expedyte was awarded a Much Music VideoFACT for the track “Cancerous Passion”, he was also showcased at the ECMA’s after being nominated for best hip hop recording of the year for the track “Mak’em Holla” with maritime hip hop icon Bonshah on producer Hotbox’s debut album. LIFE would also receive a nomination for best hip hop album of the year for the Music Nova Scotia awards at Music Nova Scotia week in Yarmouth. He would later return to the ECMA’s with his band ‘Three Sheet’ (co-founder/lead vocals) who was nominated for hip hop recording of the year and invited to perform on the Gala Awards ceremony stage!



Following the release of LIFE in November 2008, Expedyte’s solo career would take a turn as Three Sheet would create a storm that still hasn’t ended yet in 2010! Doesn’t matter. While the storm marches on he is ready to team up once again with Metropolis Votary for their second full length LP, titled “Sun, Moon & Stars”, expected to be out in the new year!
