From the late seventies the band could start working in its own studio, allowing more time for writing and recording. This era brought New Wave in, which made Omega’s meditative style a bit outdated. Still, Omega was not attracted to New Wave’s simple, dynamic approach, but turned to progressive rock instead. Concept albums of the seventies were followed by more song-oriented records in the eighties.
