Call me the Executive Artist. As an artist I'm known as Olskool Ice-Gre from the Southside of Chicago (Englewood area) but I currently reside in Los Angeles California. Those who are familiar with the name know me as the male half of the group Abstract Mindstate. Those who are being introduced to me I'll share a few things; I've been in the business for some time now and I've worn/wear many hats. I am the creator and co-founder of the entertainment company 4 The Soul-Reciprocity Inc. (www.myspace.com/4tsr) which is the foundation for artists such as Trizonna McClendon (www.trizonnamcclendon.com) and Dre Cagney (www.myspace.com/drecagney). My current focus is my newly formed company Honest Management LLC. (www.myspace.com/honestmanagement). I have always took on the management duties of every group or collective I've been apart of since I chose to pursue music as a career but I just recently (over the past few years) embraced and accepted management as my position. I've been the business behind several successes in music and entertainment (some greater than others) and I've acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years. Hip Hop is in my heart and I do it for the love (at this point) so you will catch me doing a gig every now and then with various artists ranging from Latin Jazz to Pop. Past collaborations have allowed me to continue to hit the stage but the real work is being done behind the scenes. I'm known to do exactly what I say, I operate with integrity and I have a solid track record that speaks for itself. The songs you hear in the jukebox are taken from the last mixtape I completed entitled The Gregarious Mixtape produced exclusively by the incomparable Rashid Hadee. They are there so you can enjoy the artistic side of me but I am no longer pursuing a career as an artist. I am a R&B song writer/arranger and a hell of a Rap/Hip Hop hook writer so holla if you're serious and need my writing services. EASY!

Hip Hop and R&B music has taken a turn in a weird direction and part of the blame is on the suits who destroyed the creativity for bottom line sales and part of it is on the many artists who sell themselves short (and their soul) for a quick buck and 15 minutes of fame. Somewhere in the midst of the chaos and money rappers start believing that lyrics, flows, intellect, timing, wordplay, creativity and originality wasn't as important as being street and R&B artists start wanting to be rappers. So now we have hundreds of disrespectful, uneducated, hardcore, unoriginal, untalented rappers and singers making millions for the machine (notice I said the machine because the money the "so called" artist makes is crumbs compared to what the machine makes off of their ignorance and stupidity). The balance is gone and its more our fault (the artist) than it is the machine because the machine can only mass produce what we make and if we decide we refuse to make pointless music they'll have to release what we say the people want to hear. Don't get me wrong, in Hip Hop there is a need for music by intelligent hoodlums but we've gone too far! Most of us (people of color) are from the hood so at this point to keep talking about it becomes rape and mistreatment. I say this because we "the artists" are edifying an area unfamiliar to those purchasing our stories so it becomes entertainment for them but real life for us. Plus most so called "hood artist" refuse to put money back into the same hood that helped them make money. Straight up and down, we're all from the hood so its nothing new and that horse has long been beat dead. I'm not hating, I just hate what has happened to the art form so my comments are directed more to the outcome of our greed and shallowness than any particular artist. In the meantime, I'll continue making good Hip Hop and R&B music for thinkers to enjoy because unlike most, I still do it for the love. In my music (as well as the artist I represent) you'll hear truth, love, happiness, pain, social commentary and respect along with solid production. The music industry is finally on its last leg and soon will totally self destruct. This is why independent artists and labels are ruling the game because the machine is being eating by its own greedy monster. The listener isn't as dumb as the suits believed us to be over the last 8 to 10 years. Its going back to true talent & art and I will be one of the EXECUTIVE ARTISTS who will be instrumental in the rebuilding back to its normal state. I guess it is truth in the saying "In order to rebuild we must destroy". In terms of artistic lyricism, I've accomplished my goal of creating Hip Hop music that makes you feel good, think or at least smile. As an R&B songwriter I've given just as much quality. As an executive I operate with honesty and integrity. Anyway, enjoy the music and respect the art.EASY!
