For me, improvised music is one of the purest forms of expression. You have to be fully present, listening, reflecting, responding and at the peak of your abilities as musical & sonic crafts person. Even with all this, the bottom can fall out of what you're doing at any moment. Every performance has the opportunity to be your best or your worst; you don't know until it's done. Not unlike, life, you give it your best and sometimes it works out, other times, not so much...Sometimes, when you're really lucky you lose yourself in the sound, that's the peak.

For these solo videos, my tools are simply a guitar and Ableton Live. I thought that this would be a fun exercise for some creative work, but also give a folks a chance to see how I'm using Live.
